Furnace Filter Reminder

Change your furnace filters every month this winter and you'll breathe easy knowing that you're helping your heating system operate cleanly and efficiently.  Failing to change or clean filters is a common oversight, but in the long run it can cost your time, money, and comfort. Once the filter is saturated, dust and other smaller airborne particles that otherwise would have been trapped are instead blown into your house. That means you'll spend more time with the vacuum cleaner or dust cloth. These dust and lint particles can also pollute your indoor air and may cause problems for people who suffer from allergies. An air filter that's loaded with dust also puts a strain on your furnace, forcing it to work harder and less efficiently. The blower motor may have to struggle as it works to push air through the clogged filter. Over time, this extra effort may shorten the blower motor's life.
